RE: 2022 Environmental Science  & Leadership Development Program

The Oswegatchie Educational Center is offering Environmental and Leadership Development Programs (ELPs) to be implemented during the 2022  calendar year. Funding for these programs has been made possible by NY Ag Education and Outreach. All secondary  Agricultural Education, Environmental / Conservation CTE programs may apply for these special opportunities.

In the past, this program was designed to have multiple schools at one time. Due to Covid, this has changed. Each program will be intended for one school unless prearranged by multiple schools with administrative permission in advance.

These funds are available Sunday—Friday anytime during the 2022 calendar year.  Minimum per group is for 15 students with a maximum of 60. Call for availability.

Three program formats to choose from:

  • Standard ELP with 2 Day / 2 Night option, each student receives a $50 ELP Scholarship cutting cost from $200 per student to $150 per student.
  •  Quick ELP with 1 Day / 1 Night option, each student receives a $50 ELP Scholarship cutting cost from $150 per student to $100 per student.
  • 1 Day Ropes Program, each student receives $10 scholarship cutting cost from $30 to $20 per student.

What is an ELP?

ELPs stands for Environmental Science & Leadership Training Program. Historically its been a a 2 day / 2 night experience with a combination of ropes course, environmental education, and other experiences.  AS stated above, we have reevaluated the program for 2022 to meet current trends.

We are looking forward to giving this opportunity to your students again this year. The Oswegatchie Educational Center is situated on a 1,200 acre expanse of land inside the Adirondack Park. This setting provides the perfect atmosphere for learning about our natural world. Don’t miss out on this opportunity for you and your students.

Please contact Bill or Robin at Oswegatchie to book dates, ask questions, or anything else Oswegatchie.   (315) 346-1222

Sincerely,

Bill Waite
