2/13/2015

In the first 6 hours after we kicked off the official online sales of AdironDucks, inviting each of our supporters from last year to go on line and buy their 2015 ducks. Without lifting a finger, the following schools earned Oswegatchie credit through the on line sales of ducks that were credited to their chapters.

Tri-Valley- $27.50           Moravia- $12.50               Marcus Whitman- $10

Adirondack Central- $10            Springville- $7.50

Earn credit for your FFA members to attend Oswegatchie!  Share the link below with everyone in your school, friends, family and community members.

http://www.adironduckrace.com/buy-ducks.html
They can go to the site, buy their ducks and select YOUR FFA chapter to earn the credit for the sale.  No moving heavy fruit boxes, no handling money, no accountability issues.  Just let people know how they can support you.

$13,006 was given back to chapters to use at Oswegatchie in 2014!

Plus this credit can be used to earn your cash back incentive if your chapter increases their enrollment in summer camp by 20%.

New Lewis County Maple Trail App Ready to Lead Consumers to Sweet 2015 Maple Weekend Sites

Croghan, NY.  A new Lewis County Maple Trail app will guide those in search of sweet treats made from the sap of the abundant maple trees in the upstate NY county that leads the state in the number of maple farms by county. The Lewis County Maple Trail is the latest addition to the instant info available by app for activities, shopping options, restaurants and accommodations in Lewis County.

Five sugarhouses and the American Maple Museum are participating in the new Android and I-Phone-friendly mobile app titled ‘Adirondacks Tug Hill Region Our backyard. Your Adventure.’

The participating sites include Moser’s Maple, Croghan; Moser’s Mapleridge Farm, Copenhagen; the Oswegatchie Educational Center, Croghan; Swiss’er Sweet Maple, Castorland; and Yancey’s Sugarbush, Croghan.

The sites will be making syrup and sugarcakes and offering New York State Maple Weekend tastings and tours on March 21-22 and March 28-29. Some sites use horse-drawn sleds to bring sap to the sugarhouse; some have the most modern of maple equipment at work. The American Maple Museum in Croghan will be serving Maple Weekends pancake breakfasts.  Check the app or link at www.mapleweekend.com for days and hours of availability.

The app, developed by the Lewis County Maple Producers Association and Lewis County Planning Department, also works without cell phone reception to lead visitors to the Lewis County Maple Producers Association member sites.

The Adirondacks Tug Hill Region Our backyard. Your Adventure app is available in winter and summer editions with cultural and history sites as well as outdoor recreation, ATMs, Wi-Fi locations, and camping opportunities. Trail options also include routes for driving, hiking, ATV and horseback riding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Waypoint and GPS features enhance usability of the new app. Learn more at www.adirondackstughill.com/index.php/mobile-apps or contact the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce at 315-376-2213, 800-724-0242.
