The Berkey Bathhouse Project
Oswegatchie has been in great need of a new bath facility that can better accommodate summer camp and year-round needs. After two years of careful planning, the bathhouse has been designed to meet the needs of Oswegatchie well into the future. Ground was broken in September and the new bathhouse is nearly complete! The floors and walls have been poured, the steel roof has been laid, and the focus of the work is quickly shifting toward the inside of the building. The building is slated to be ready for next spring’s Duck Derby.
The bathhouse has been named the “Berkey Bathhouse” after Dr. Arthur Berkey, a long time supporter of New York Agricultural Education and of the Oswegatchie Educational Center. Without Dr. Berkey’s generous contribution, the new bathhouse would still be a dream.
However, project funds are still needed.
